Step one

The Torsorest® system could be incorporated in a normal travel bag that can be wheeled along and is large enough to carry items such as laptops, folders as well as clothes, shoes and other similar items.

Step two

The torsorest® body balancing system would be released from the bag by pressing a button near the top of the bag and withdrawing the device.

Docking the torsorest® body balancing system would be the reverse. Simply slide into the docking mechanism and the torsorest® will lock in place.

Step three

Once the torsorest® is removed from the bag, the bag can be stored away in the standard overhead hand luggage compartments of most planes and trains.

Step four

Both legs adjust for height and angle by pressing the release buttons. The font leg release button is operated by your foot, the rear leg by hand.

Multiple angles are possible from shallow (towards horizontal) when there is plenty of room, to steep (towards vertical) when space is at a premium.

Step five

The short, back leg should be angled right back when the torsorest® is at a steep angle. At a shallow angle you may like to angle the small leg slightly forward of right angles to the torsorest® surface.

Step six

For example, adjust the torsorest® steeper if the seat in front is reclined too far. Even at relatively steep angles it is remarkably effective.

Tip: Most airlines supply cushions for longer flights. These cushions are very effective at bridging the small gap between the torsorest® and the seat in front and can help further improve comfort levels.

Step seven

Experiment to find the angles and leg lengths that suit you. Everyone is different.

Once you know your optimal settings it is very easy to deploy quickly to your exact requirements.

Tip: when you are finalizing your settings and/or when using the torsorest® remember to lift and push your hips/buttocks as far back into the seat as possible. This rotates your hips and spine towards the torsorest® allowing maximum comfort.

Step eight

If you no longer require the torsorest® then it can easily be folded into a compact form, no thicker than many books, and stored in the storage space provided on the back of the chair in front of you. Alternatively, you could could replace it with, or in the bag in the locker above.
